It’s hard to believe I’m saying this, but Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is right around the corner. As part of their ongoing series (which we’ve been covering with great interest), Paradox and The Chinese Room has showcased a new Dev Diary, this time giving us a deeper look at some of the fantastic environments that these blood sucking monsters call home. From dark alleys to bright places like The Atrium Club, modern day Seattle is the perfect space for whatever comes next.
In the last developer diary, The Chinese Room shared more about Seattle’s Anarchs, Unbound, Thin-bloods, and the Ghoul enemies among them. You can read from The Chinese Room’s Writer, Cherish Goldstraw, and Narrative Director, Ian Thomas, here.
We’ve also got some GORGEOUS new screenshots to showcase the vicious underbelly of the rainy city where the game will be set. Seeing quotes like this makes me even more excited to see this world the team has built:
Working closely with the Environment team, I wanted to make sure that as players explore the world it feels both alive and reactive to what they are doing. Players will discover a wide variety of people going about their daily (or nightly!) lives. We’ve crafted a personality for the city that compliments its unique setting, mood and layout. Time has been taken to map out city districts that favour different types of NPCs – you’ll be able to sit back and watch the world move on around you.
When you walk round a corner you never know what you’ll find; maybe it’s a businessman arguing on his phone, or a graffiti artist improving the local artwork, it could be a car thief struggling to break into a car, or even a sex worker making good on their promise with a client.
While this game has seen some significant delays, it’s also very clear that the team at The Chinese Room and publisher Paradox are taking their time to absolutely nail this.
It’s my great pleasure to remind you that we don’t have much longer to wait — Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is headed to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in “The first half of 2025”.
