Sunrise, FL – March 1, 2023. Today, Restoration Games announced Unmatched Adventures: Tales To Amaze, a new Unmatched set that allows for cooperative play in addition to the standard competitive mode. The Kickstarter campaign launches on March 23, 2023. The campaign will run through April 7th and offers a single pledge level to get a copy of the game along with some free promo items.

Tales To Amaze is themed around the pulp adventures, tall tales, and local legends of the mid-20th Century. Players work together to defeat one of two villains: Mothman and the Martian Invader. Each villain has a unique battlefield with unique objectives. If the villain completes their objective (or defeats the heroes), the players lose. Kickstarter backers will get free alien and doom figures to replace the objective tokens that come with the game. The villains are aided by a number of possible minions: Jersey Devil, Ant Queen, Loveland Frog, The Blob, Tarantula, and Skunk Ape. The enemies use special action cards and a simple targeting scheme to control their movement and attacks.

The set plays 1-4 players and comes with four new heroes. Nikola Tesla discharges his electrified coils to power up his effects. Annie Christmas gets stronger when she’s fighting from behind. The Golden Bat, the world’s first superhero, has a variety of powerful effects. Dr. Jill Trent, Science Sleuth, calls on a collection of gizmos. Kickstarter backers will get a free foil promo card for each of the four heroes.

“One of the things we’re most excited about is how this expands the reach of Unmatched,” said Restoration Games owner, Justin D. Jacobson. “Cooperative play offers an entry point to folks who prefer less aggressive play or for families with younger players. But it also gives veteran players challenging new ways to interact with the system they love.”

Speaking to the set’s versatility, Jacobson noted that you can use the included heroes and battlefields to play competitive Unmatched and can use any existing Unmatched heroes in the cooperative game. “If you ever wanted to see Bigfoot and Achilles team up to take down some little green men, that’s Unmatched,” he said.

Kickstarter fulfillment and retail release are scheduled for July of this year.
