Trailer Released for Lord of the Rings Inspired Guardians of Middle-earth

The first trailer for Guardians of Middle-earth, a DotA-style game set in the Lord of the Rings universe, was released today. The game was announced by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment only two days ago, so details are relatively limited. From what has been released so far, we do know that it will be an action real-time strategy title where gamers can play as one of twenty guardians to help their team. Guardians of Middle-earth, which will make a public debut at this year’s E3, will be released for PS3 and 360 this fall. Check out the trailer after the break.

Guardians of Middle-earth is a new multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed by Monolith Productions, set to be released in fall 2012 exclusively for Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network. The console-based MOBA offers more than 20 iconic guardians including Gandalf, Sauron, Gollum, Thrain and many more for players to control in PVP arena battles. Gamers will have the ability to connect with other players via an in-game voice communication system, as well as access to a comprehensive online stat and leader board system where they can track friends’ victories and defeats, and more.

Breanna has been gaming since infancy, if gnawing on an unattended controller counts as playing a game. One of the younger members of the Gaming Trend family, she dabbled in PC games as a kid but wasn't fully consumed by the hobby until the sixth generation of consoles. Now an avid PC and console gamer, she looks forward to the day when she can scape together enough cash to join the next gen club.

In the last week of middle school, a math teacher taught her how to program a calculator; she was pretty much hooked then and there. Currently working towards a degree in Computer Science and Applied Math, Breanna hope to someday make games instead of just writing about them. Other hobbies include playing guitar, binge-watching Netflix, and cooking delicious food.
