Toon Second Edition is now up on Backerkit

I adore Toon; it is such a breath of fresh air. Toon is not your typical role-playing game and really sets itself apart from the rest because of its tones, themes, and mechanics.

Since 1984, fans of Toon have delighted in its over-the-topic craziness, inspired by classic Saturday morning cartoons. The original game was developed by Warren Spector and designed by Greg Costikyan. Now, Steve Jackson has revised it and worked alongside Jay Dragon to enhance the game. The original illustrator, Kyle Miller, colorized his cartoons, adding even more brilliance to the pages.

Toon’s characters can be anything players and the GM (known in the game as the Animator) can come up with – whether it’s a quirky astronaut, a land-loving sea monster, or even a discombobulated radio. In addition, the Animator is offered a host of guidance for setting the scenes.
