Following the reveal of its next console, Nintendo announced that it would be giving a live presentation of the Nintendo Switch on January 12. Today, a tweet from Nintendo revealed that the presentation will air at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.
The presentation will serve to reveal major details regarding Nintendo’s new portable console, including a release date, price, and launch lineup. Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima also hinted that the company may reveal some “accessories” or “add-on hardware” to go with the Switch. Many believe these accessories to be attachable alternatives to the Joy-Con controllers, which attach to the sides of the portable console.
Though the Switch reveal trailer told us much about the console, there is still plenty we don’t know. However, some reports have surfaced regarding the handheld/home console hybrid since its reveal, including one which states the Switch’s screen comes with capacitive multi-touch support. Other reports suggest that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild won’t be ready in time for the console’s release in March, but the unannounced Mario game which appeared in the reveal trailer will be a launch title.
We recently got our first look at Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Switch in action on The Tonight Show, where President of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aimé let Jimmy Fallon go hands-on with the highly anticipated Switch/Wii U title.
