The Game of the Year for 2013/14 has officially been announced today, my friends. Today, Bethesda has revealed that they are toiling away in their dungeon of development on Elder Scrolls Online , a full-fledged MMO from the people that brought you Oblivion and Skyrim .
Often times we ponder what certain game universes would be like if made into an MMO – Mass Effect , for example, is no stranger to the musings of wishful thinkers. The Elder Scrolls series has long been entertaining the imaginations of many a gamer, who would jump at the chance to explore the continent of Tamriel with friends (or strangers!). Now we’ll have a chance to experience the Elder Scrolls universe the way, perhaps, it was always been to be experienced.
“We have been working hard to create an online world in which players will be able to experience the epic Elder Scrolls universe with their friends, something fans have long said they wanted,” said Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online. “It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
So far the only thing we know is that it’s exclusive to PC and Mac, however, the first concrete details will be revealed in the June issue of Game Informer. Maybe this is why Bethesda got so worked up over another Notch’s Scrolls ?
