The future reimagined, free-to-play game Defiance 2050 released today on console and PC

Today, Trion Worlds announced that their reimagining of last year’s online sci-fi shooter, Defiance, has been released on console and PC as Defiance 2050. This time it’s brought to the current generation with updated visuals, gameplay enhancements, and more.

Originally released in 2013, Defiance blended third-person gunplay with fast-paced action, cooperative gameplay, and a tie-in with the Syfy channel show by the same name. Players, or, Ark Hunters, fight their way through a post-apocalyptic landscapes of Earth, using alien tech and weaponry to take out threats of this new world.

The definitive Defiance experience, Defiance 2050 is focused on bringing the game into the current generation. In addition to taking advantage of modern hardware to improve the original game’s visuals, Defiance 2050 also makes major updates to Defiance’s gameplay systems, streamlining and modernizing them for today’s shooter audience.

Like its predecssor, Defiance 2050 is free-to-play. However, players can purchase an “ultimate class pack” that contains $50 worth of Bits, a Crusader Class + Outfit, Engineer Class + Outfit, Assault Class, Guardian Class, Combat Medic Class, and the TMW Hannibal 800R ATV.

Defiance 2050 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. For more information, visit the official website.
