Today, Telltale Games announced its release dates for the upcoming Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2 premiere. Entitled “Giant Consequences,” the episode will be available to download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices August 15. In addition to the news, Telltale also announced that Season 1 of the game will be available for retail and download on Nintendo Switch August 22.
In Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2, Jesse and the gang survived the Sea Temple, but they brought home a little more than they bargained for: a lost adventurer, a powerful device, and a colossal enemy capable of grinding Beacontown to dust. There may be more to this fearsome foe than meets the eye, but to find out, Jesse — together with a few trusty friends — must embark on another adventure, this time into the icy unknown. Season 2 will also include a Crowd Play feature, which allows friends and family to engage with the adventure together by helping to decide the direction of the story from any mobile device with an online connection.
While Season 2’s release is yet to be announced for the Nintendo Switch, the console will be getting Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure on August 22, which includes all five episodes of Season 1 as well as three bonus episodes from the “Adventure Pass” add-on series. It will be available at the retail price of $39.99.
