According to a report made by the Europe-based gaming website, GameReactor, the team behind the Doom port on the Nintendo Switch will also be responsible for the Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus port.
Panic Button, who is also the team behind various ports of the vehicle-driven soccer game, Rocket League, will be the studio behind Wolfenstein II, according to GameReactor’s interview with Andreas Öjerfors during the Fun & Serious Game Festival in Bilbao, Spain.
“That’s a collaboration with a different studio that we’re working together with,” recalls Öjerfors, before both confirm that the team in charge is Panic Button. “It’s the same as the Doom studio,” adds Bjork. “It’s the same people,” confirms the former.
The senior game designer later adds “they’re experts at the Switch an now they’re experts with the [id Tech 6] engine so we work with them, and the Doom version turned out to be really kick-ass on the Switch so I think Wolfenstein will be the same,” with the narrative designer agreeing, saying: “it’s going to be as good”.
Doom on Nintendo Switch has been praised as being, while not perfect port, a pretty damn good one. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is expected to be released on Nintendo Switch in 2018. Bethesda has not yet had an official announcement on the team behind this new port.
