Meow Wolf is not content to expand the boundaries of artistic experiences, and now with the team at Exalted Funeral, they're funding a tabletop RPG adaptation of their exhibits. Not long ago I spoke with the team behind TAVERS, the game now live on Kickstarter, about the interesting challenges of adapting something with so little explicit narrative. You can read my thoughts below, which in many ways left me surprised at how appropriate Meow Wolf could be for an RPG. Both experiences are communal yet personal, giving you the tools for an individual journey with the medium.

Here are the hard details from the Kickstarter, which has already funded its goal with nearly 30 days to go.
- The beautiful TAVERS: The Meow Wolf Roleplaying Game rulebook in digital, physical, and deluxe editions, featuring cover art by Tradd Moore, interior art from renowned artists such as Jesse Jacobs, Jamiyla Lowe, and Jordan Speer, plus a host of other fantastic artists. A menagerie of new and familiar places and faces from Meow Wolf’s many worlds are found within, along with five story arcs co-developed by Meow Wolf – including our finale starring Nimsekaiju, Meow Wolf’s beloved transdimensional hamster as a kaiju wreaking havoc on the city.
- The Quantum Parabox - A boxed set containing the core rulebook, custom dice, tokens, character sheets, and everything else you need for game night (bring your own friends).
- Mem-Maker Kit - A cute box containing extra custom dice, game tokens for a larger party.
- Taver Toolkit Refill Pack - A pack containing pre-gen Taver characters, extra Taver character and Episoda sheets; Itemtronical sheets, and sticker sheets.
- Vinyl LP record - Original soundtrack mixed by Meow Wolf with bonus gameable content.
- The Nimiature - An oversized 80mm miniature of Nimsekaiju that’s so large, it’s the actual size of a real (small) hamster.
