Today, GungHo Online Entertainment America announced the Golden Wings Edition for the upcoming Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter. This gorgeous collector's item includes the standard edition of the game (for Steam, PS5, Switch, or Switch 2), a diorama depicting two of the game's airships, the Arseille and the Glorious, a SteelBook, an artbook and mini soundtrack CD, and the season pass all housed in a Collector's Box. The Golden Wings Edition was created in partnership with TAKEOFF Creative and will cost $274.99 or $279.99 for the Switch 2 version.

The standard edition (physical and digital) will be available for pre-order at a later date for $59.99 on Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation® 5, and Steam®, and $64.99 for the Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition. Players who purchase the Nintendo Switch™ version of the game can also upgrade to the Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition by purchasing a $4.99 Upgrade Pack. The Season Pass will be available for purchase separately on Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation® 5, and Steam®, granting access to a variety of cosmetic DLC, with pricing to be announced at a later date. A Digital Deluxe edition including the Season Pass will also be available at a later date.

I loved Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter last year, and I can't wait to play 2nd Chapter later this year. While I didn't enjoy the original version as much as its prequel, most fans agree that this sequel is where things really get going. There were some issues with 1st, namely the less polished translation having less personality than XSEED's efforts way back when, but I'm sure GungHo has taken that criticism to heart and is putting their all into this localization.
