For fans that didn’t get their fill of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate news yet, Nintendo announced via their Nintendo Versus Twitter page that the highly anticipated crossover fighter, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, will be receiving a special Nintendo Direct this coming Wednesday. As their E3 Nintendo Direct had a heavy focus on the basics for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, we’re expected to see new modes and at the very least, a new fighter.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the fifth generation of Smash Bros games, and the sixth game overall in the franchise. It is the first time since Super Smash Bros. Melee where every character that made an appearance in the series is present. During E3, we were shown a brief video for every fighter including the three new fighters, Inkling, Daisy, and Ridley.

For this Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct, we’re hoping to see new modes for this game, especially this game’s “Smash Run” equivalent, as that mode was revealed for Super Smash Bros. 3DS in a special Smash-only Direct in April of 2014.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be released on December 7th, 2018. At E3, we had a chance to sink our teeth into the game by playing a few matches with a variety of characters including the new ones, Ridley and Inkling. Check it out here.
