If you’ve ever wanted to allow your friends or family access to your Steam library without having them overwrite your saves or interfere with your achievement progress, good news – Valve seems to think that’s a good idea. Steam Family Sharing has been announced, promising to allow gamers to share their owned Steam catalog with up to 10 friends and family. While there are some limitations – such as the need to already have the game downloaded and installed on the computer in question – the details sound promising, particularly for those gamers who share computers.
This one’s going into beta before a full release, and those interested in getting invited to the program should join the Steam Family Sharing group for a chance at beta access.
