Star Wars Unlimited’s Jump to Lightspeed expansion available for pre-order

Throw that lever, it’s time for the jump. Jump to Lightspeed, the latest expansion for the popular Star Wars Unlimited card game, will arrive in March. Given we’re so close, the team at Fantasy Flight Games has opened pre-orders. ROSEVILLE, Minn. (January 23, 2025) – Fantasy Flight Games is excited to announce that Jump to Lightspeed, the next chapter in the Star Wars™: Unlimited card game, is now available for preorder. Launching in March 2025, this set introduces iconic starfighters, transports, and capital ships from across the ​Star Wars​​​™​​ galaxy.  

As ​the ​Star Wars™: Unlimited ​card game ​transitions from its foundation-building first year into an exciting Year 2, new products are being introduced to better serve both new and existing players. Leading this evolution is​ the​ Jump to Lightspeed​ card game​, which debuts the game’s first-ever Spotlight Decks, replacing the two-player starter sets of Year 1. 

These pre-built, 50-card decks are designed for quick and seamless gameplay, featuring a mix of cards from multiple sets, with the majority coming from the new release. Each deck includes five unique special-rarity cards, and with two Spotlight Decks featuring new Boba Fett and Han Solo Leaders, players can collect ten special-rarity cards in total—matching the count previously found in the two-player starter sets. 

New Spotlight Decks are joined by another exciting new product type in this release: limited-edition Carbonite Edition booster packs. ​E​ach ​game ​card ​in the premium packs ​is a variation of existing cards in the set, given unique aesthetic treatments to catch the eye of any collector or avid fan. Additionally, every single ​game ​card is guaranteed to be a collector’s item: foil, hyperspace, hyperspace foil, and showcase cards abound, along with new, Carbonite Edition-exclusive prestige variants.

Where previous sets like​ the​ Twilight of the Republic and Shadows of the Galaxy ​card game sets ​have primarily focused on ground battles, this set propels players into the vastness of space, embracing space combat like never before. Starfighters take center stage, inviting players to fight their way through a variety of iconic moments with novel mechanics and a wealth of strategic options. Jump to Lightspeed introduces a brand-new keyword to the fray: Piloting. Piloting allows characters to be attached to a vehicle unit, turning it into a leader unit and significantly boosting its stats and unlocking additional abilities, making it a versatile and powerful gameplay strategy.
