Last week, Star Wars: The Old Republic went live for those who pre-ordered the game during the Early Game Access period. Today, the game goes live for the rest of the world which is sure to improve the already lengthy sever queues.
“Today represents an amazing milestone for BioWare, EA and Star Wars fans everywhere and we are confident it has been worth the wait,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, Co-Founder, BioWare and General Manager, EA’s BioWare Label. “The support and resources going into Star Wars: The Old Republic are not ending today. The innovations we’re bringing to the category are just the start of a journey and ongoing investment in our players that will grow, evolve and transform based on player feedback over the weeks, months and years ahead.”
Bioware is touting their MMO as a story-driven MMO featuring fully voiced storylines and a sweeping musical score. It doesn’t hurt that the game looks gorgeous as well. Hopefully the gameplay itself feels fresh enough to encourage people to continue playing beyond the first free month.
Sean started playing video games in infancy. He was not given a choice as much as a directive from his parents to be the best gamer on Earth. Sean was subjected to 10-12 hours of rigorous daily gaming throughout his youth, mastering the most complex video games and dominating online competitions. Sean's symbiotic relationship with video games led to writing about them for various gaming websites, and he is currently involved in sales strategy and analytics at one of the largest video game publishers in the world. Sean's mission is simple: Turn 100% of the human population into gamers, willingly or otherwise.
