EA and DICE have announced details on Star Wars: Battlefront’s upcoming beta.
While no date was given, it has been confirmed that Battlefront’s beta testing stage will begin in “early” October, according to a post on EA’s Star Wars website. The beta will allow participants to play through the assault on Hoth seen during EA’s E3 press conference back in June, as well as a survival mission on Tattooine. Players will be able to engage in 40-player battles and have the chance to play as either Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker at certain points.
A third mode called Drop Zone will also be part of Battlefront’s beta, but there were no specifics revealed about the mode at the time of the announcement.
During the duration of the beta, players will be able to use Battlefront’s companion app to play a card game called “Base Command,” keep track of stats and progression.
Star Wars: Battlefront is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 17th. For more on the game, check out our preview from this year’s E3.
