Square Enix teams up with American Red Cross for a Stormblood E3 blood drive

Square Enix, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, announced that it will hold a blood drive at this year’s E3 to commemorate the upcoming release of its newest expansion, Stormblood. The MMORPG’s expansion will be available for the PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the game.

“Whether it’s in a game or in real life, everyone needs a helping hand. That’s why we’ve joined forces with the Red Cross and their important mission to help save lives,” said Morten Haugaard, marketing director, MMO, Square Enix. “The FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood blood drive will visit college campuses throughout Southern California to spotlight their vital work.”

The Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood blood drive will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center during these times:

  • Tuesday, June 13, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 14, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 15, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In order to donate blood, you must have a blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood will be released on June 20 for PlayStation 4 and PC. Check out our review of a Realm Reborn here, and stay tuned for more E3 news here on Gaming Trend.
