Square-Enix already plans to release a new Kingdom Hearts compilation on PlayStation 4 in December with Kingdom Hearts II.8, but the company hasn’t ruled out bringing the entire series to the console through a new collection.
In an interview with GameSpot, Square-Enix’s Tai Yasue was asked about the possibility of bringing its previous Kingdom Hearts compilations, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix and 2.5 Remix, to PlayStation 4 to complete the series on the console, to which he responded saying “We haven’t come to decision and nothing is announced yet,” Yasue said. “We listen to our fans and our players and see what they think about it–and, yeah, I’m not ruling it out, but we’re not making an announcement just yet.”
Both 1.5 Remix and 2.5 Remix came to PlayStation 3, but both II.8 and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III are coming to PlayStation 4, prompting fans to request that the entire series be brought over to the new system.
Kingdom Hearts III will also be coming to Xbox One, but none of the series’ compilations have been seen on the platform yet.
