Square Enix announced at E3 that Final Fantasy XV will be getting some expansions to its universe in the coming months. The JRPG, available now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, will be receiving some addition content in the coming weeks. In addition, new side-projects have been announced and will be available later this year.
Firstly, Final Fantasy XV will take steps to support next gen hardware, starting with support for the recently announced Xbox One X. The game currently supports the PlayStation 4 Pro, where it benefits from a technical standpoint. Additionally, Final Fantasy XV: Episode Prompto will be released on June 27 as DLC, where players will experience an all-new scenario featuring the party member. Future DLC episodes include Episode Ignis and a multiplayer expansion. There will also be free updates and new content planned for release on June 27, including the Regalia Type-D update, where players can drive the Regalia off-road through various environments.
Aside from the main game, Square Enix also announced two different projects: Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV is a new game for the PlayStation VR, which was unveiled at the PlayStation E3 Media Showcase earlier in the week. The game is a fishing simulator that will take advantage of the PSVR’s features. Finally, King’s Knight -Wrath of the Dark Dragon- will be released later this year; the action RPG mobile game will feature a new story and world with multiplayer support for up to four players.
