Splitgate 2 stuns in first gameplay look

The first Splitgate was a sensation. A perfect meshing of Halo and Portal, it was fair to wonder where the team would go after the original. Now, we know. Quick heads up on a new video today from 1047 Games – the first look at Splitgate 2 gameplay has dropped today and we wanted to share it with you alongside some of the first details to emerge of what players can expect from Splitgate 2 when it arrives on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

Fans get their first glimpse of the all-new eye-popping visuals Splitgate 2 has to offer, alongside a front row seat to combat featuring all three factions in the game. One of the biggest changes from Splitgate to Splitgate 2 is the faction system and it’s on full display in today’s video.

Splitgate 2 offers players three factions to choose from and each is represented in today’s video. Each faction comes with its own distinct abilities, with each suiting a different, varied playstyle – fans are encouraged to mix and match factions on their teams to maximize strengths and to counter the opposing team’s choices.

The video first introduces the Aeros faction: Aeros’s fast-action and Rush ability allows for sick kills via slick movement – while master portal skills are used to control an area. Traditional Splitgate fans who love to be in the middle of the action will be right at home aligning with Aeros.

Meridian’s Hypersight and Time Dome mechanics give a huge boost to support class players, arming them with the ability to assist the whole team. Built for the ultimate utility player who rounds out their matches by helping, healing and scoring.

Sabrask’s militaristic origins have made them into the toughest Aces in Sol. The Sabrask Smart Wall is truly advantageous in a head-to-head gun fight and combined with a few perfectly thrown grenades, this faction can have powerful offensive potential in controlling an area.
