Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist was an absolute highlight of E3 2013. So much so that we awarded it the Best Xbox 360 Game of E3 2013! The Spys vs. Mercs mode we got to try behind closed doors, the single player experience and how smoothly it brought us back to the old-school Sam Fisher moments but brought so much new to the table – it all come together for this game, and I personally couldn’t be more excited for it. Today we’ve got a trailer for the Louisiana Liquid Natural Gas Mission. The mission has gone sideways and Sam has to get the fire suppression system back online. The trailer is narrated by the team to give us context, showing off some of the incredible vertical mobility, and a few of the incredible set pieces we’ll get to play in the game. It also shows how his team will support Sam in the field, as well as some of the alternate methods of completing your objectives. If you can watch this trailer and not be very excited, you might want to check your pulse. Yea…it looks that good. If you have been in a media blackout, this will show you how the team has rebuilt this franchise. Here’s a nibble about Sam’s new role:
In Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist, players take on the role of lethal operative Sam Fisher who must stop an international terrorist group behind The Blacklist, a series of escalating attacks on US assets. Operating under the newly formed Fourth Echelon unit, Sam Fisher and his team will use any means necessary to prevent the next deadly assault.
Delivering a gripping modern-day storyline, the game brings back core elements of the franchise and incorporates a new level of technical innovation and design to create the biggest Splinter Cell to date. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist will push the series to even greater heights by offering a complete package where single-player, co-op and multiplayer are tied to a universal economy system supporting a wide variety of play styles. Ghost players want to remain undetected; they analyze and plan the best way to go unseen. Panther players look for lethality in the most efficient and silent way. Assault players rely on instincts and are about open fire.
The game is heading to shelves on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC on August 20th. There is still a chance to pre-order the sweet collector’s edition of the game, but that won’t last long! Check out the trailer below to see how Splinter Cell Blacklist earned our Best Xbox 360 Game of E3 2013 award.
