Sony opens ForwardWorks, a new mobile-focused studio

Sony has announced that it has formed a new studio called ForwardWorks, which will work to bring PlayStation IP to the mobile market.

The Tokyo-based studio will be developing PlayStation games for smartphones and other mobile devices, but as of right now it appears the only territory that will be getting these games is Japan and other parts of Asia. While there’s no concrete details as to what PlayStation IP we can expect to see from ForwardWorks, Sony’s announcement says that it will be developing “full-fledged game titles” for mobile platforms.

News of this addition to Sony’s in-house studios comes days after the announcement of Driveclub developer Evolution Studios’ closure.
