Klei Entertainment and Electronic Arts have just confirmed plans to release the co-op side-scrolling beat ’em up Shank 2 for $9.99 on February 7th. The curious part? Apparently it’s only coming to two of the major gaming platforms in my life…and they aren’t the one’s I’d expect.
Award-winning independent game developer Klei Entertainment and EA Partners, a division of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA), today announced that the highly anticipated 2D action brawler, Shank™ 2, will be available on the PlayStation®Network and PC in North America on February 7, 2012 for $9.99 USD. The game will be available on the Xbox LIVE® Arcade and PlayStation®Network Europe on February 8, 2012 for 800 Microsoft Points or € 9.99.
No XBLA version for North America? At first I thought it was just a typo by omission, but the game’s main blog reiterates the same language: PC and PSN only. Huh.
Anyhow, Shank 2 is expected to continue in the award-winning style of its predecessor, expanding to include online coooperative modes and promising a snappier, more responsive combat system. Check it out — on PC and PS3 only — in just under two weeks.
