Children’s software needs to walk a fine line, including enough sophistication to inspire their target audience, but uncomplicated enough that young gamers can interact with them in a satisfying way. It’s a delicate balancing act, but I can’t think of a developer with a better chance to get it right than Double Fine Productions. Their mission to bring top-quality kids software came to fruition this week in the form of Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster, and we’ve got fifteen glorious screenshots and a launch trailer here to show off how it came out.
If saying this game looks absolutely delightful damages my gaming cred, I’m willing to take the hit. Once Upon a Monster is available exclusively on the Kinect for a suggested price of $50.
