This September 26th, you’ll be able to save Hyrule as Princess Zelda in the just announced The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Echoes of Wisdom features classic Zelda top-down gameplay, reminiscent of A Link to the Past on the SNES, and promises an epic adventure. You can check out a trailer above.
In Echos of Wisdom, Link attempts to rescue a captured Zelda, but ends up captured himself – but not before shooting an arrow and breaking Zelda free. With Link captured, Zelda must set off on an adventure of her own to rescue Link and to save Hyrule. Echoes of Wisdom promises to break convention by forgoing traditional sword fighting and introducing the Fairy Tri, who grants Zelda the Tri-Rod, which can be used to create imitations – or echoes – of various objects which Zelda encounters throughout her journey. These echoes can then be recreated at any time to help overcome obstacles. During fights, Zelda can use echoes of throwing objects such as rocks to defend herself or even recall echoes of enemies who will then fight by Zelda’s side. Thanks to the variety of echoes available in the game, each player’s journey should prove to be wildly different.
