Computers have had a hard time generating random numbers, but Roll20 is hoping that its QuantumRoll engine is bringing that to an end:
Roll20 just launched Roll20 Dice Roller, a free, standalone dice roller available at d20roller.com. It brings Roll20's popular quantum-powered dice engine, formerly accessible only within the Virtual Tabletop, to any browser on desktop and mobile.
This tool is powered by Roll20’s QuantumRoll engine, which generates randomness from the fluctuations of a beam of light. Roll20 publishes the results of these millions of rolls so players can independently verify the true randomness of the system.
The tool supports Roll20's full dice syntax, including advantage/disadvantage, keep-highest/lowest mechanics, exploding dice, reroll rules, and custom formulas. It also provides built-in presets for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Daggerheart, and others. Customizable Quick Roll buttons let players save their custom formulas, and the D20 Roll Report provides a shareable summary of your session's rolls.
