This morning we have a new Making Of video for the pirate-infested title Risen 2: Dark Waters. It goes over the ins and outs of the dialog system (Over 150,000 spoken words in the game!) and how decisions are handled by the engine itself. If you’ve never seen the systems behind the scenes, it’s a rare treat. Along with the new video we also have a pretty extensive patch for the game, adding a pair of new features, a bevy of technical fixes, some balancing (Stealbeard’s hat can’t be sold anymore? OH NOES!) and some bug fixes for you people with 7.1 surround sound and SLI. If you missed the boat (Ha! Puns!) on Risen 2: Dark Waters, let me catch ye up ta speed, matey!
Several years after the end of Risen, humanity is pushed to the brink of existence and one of the only safe havens is Caldera, a city located on the peninsula of the Lost Realm. However, even this sanctuary is threatened by the world at chaos, as monstrous sea monsters cause shipments of vital supplies to come to a grinding halt. The hero, upon discovering a rumor that the pirates of the Southern islands know of a way to banish the creatures of the deep, journeys to infiltrate their ranks and attempt to acquire this knowledge in time to save Caldera from imminent peril.
Developer Piranha Bytes shipped this title on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 to decent reviews. Check out the video below and see if it catches your eye.
