The 2017 Arkane-developed atmospheric first person shooter returns with Prey: Mooncrash, a new DLC available for the game right now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A free content update will also be available, and features three new modes: story mode, new game plus, and survival mode.
The paid DLC will put players into the shoes of a hacker named Peter, tasking them with exploring the mysteries of, you guessed it, the moon. This DLC has been teased for a long while now, and Bethesda has finally graced us with the first trailer for these long-awaited content updates.
TranStar’s secret moon base stopped transmitting shortly after the events of Prey. Now Peter, a hacker stationed aboard a spy satellite tasked with intercepting TranStar communications, must find out why. Trapped and under a ruthless contract with KASMA Corp, Peter’s only hope of ever seeing his family again is uncovering the moon base’s lost secrets.
Arkane is calling it a “rogue-lite” experience that will be infinitely replayable, with multiple characters that are unlocked as you play. The playspace is also said to be equivalent in size to four levels of the Talos I station in the main story.
Will you forge your path with the resourceful engineer Joan, trade that wrench in for Security Officer Bhatia and his shotgun, or will you choose the frail-but-gifted Andrius and his arsenal of psychic abilities?
Additionally, Prey VR will also be available to try out at E3.
