Resident Evil: The Board Game announced, Kickstarter campaign launching this autumn

After the immense success of their Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 board games, Steamforged Games LTD has announced that Resident Evil: The Board Game will be launching a Kickstarter campaign this fall! You can check out more details below and you’ll also find a link to the Kickstarter campaign.

Oct. 2021

Raccoon Forest

“The S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team is flying around the forest zone, situated north-west of Raccoon City. We’re searching for our compatriots in the Bravo team, who disappeared in the middle of their mission…”

You’ve heard the rumours. You’ve seen the signs. You may even have received a mysterious note, many months ago.

And now, we are sickeningly excited to officially confirm:

Resident Evil: The Board Game is coming to Kickstarter in Autumn, 2021.

Prepare for the ultimate cooperative survival horror experience for 1-4 players.

It’s been an unorthodox journey but, finally, we’re going back to where it all began.

Back to the Arklay Mountains.

Back to the forest.

Back to the Spencer Mansion, hidden amongst the trees…

What Makes Resident Evil: The Board Game Different?

If you’ve already experienced the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 board games, welcome back. We’re so glad to have you with us.

But if you’re brand new to this tabletop world of survival horror, you’re joining us at the perfect time.

Because, just like the video games, each board game is a standalone, self-contained experience with its own story and secrets to uncover.

And with each board game, we’ve iterated on the survival horror engine and mechanics to create a deeper, darker, and more immersive experience.

In Resident Evil 2: The Board Game, we brought the survival horror engine to the tabletop for the first time, creating spine-tingling mechanics like the tension deck to leave you sleeping with the lights on.

In Resident Evil 3: The Board Game, we recreated Raccoon City as an open world for you to explore, creating a responsive game state that changes with your choices and forces you to navigate through an evolving nightmare.

Both of these games have excellent reviews, described as ‘survival horror done right’ and ‘a necessity for Resident Evil fans’.

Now, finally, Resident Evil: The Board Game will be the crowning celebration of a tabletop survival horror experience that’s been years in the making — and we can’t wait to share the new horrors we’ve introduced, starting with this Kickstarter exclusive box art inspired by the original classic video game!

Whether you’re a Resident Evil veteran or brand new to the board games, your nightmare is just beginning.

Because make no mistake:

This Kickstarter will be unlike any you’ve experienced before.

It’s a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the original Resident Evil, when the world first stepped into the world of survival horror. A celebration of our love for this incredible video game series. And a celebration of you, our incredible tabletop Resident Evil community.
