I’ve not personally played many card games other than things like Apples to Apples or Cards Against Humanity, so I’m far from a target audience. But the complexity of the modern strategic card game astounds me, and Subastral sounds like a cool idea with a unique setting. Renegade Game Studios announced this new addition yesterday, and we’ve got all the details below!
Subastral is the newest game from the award-winning design team of Matt Riddle and Ben Pinchback (and recent designers of Stellar). It’s is a strategic card game for 2–5 researchers, taking 15-30 minutes to play. Collect cards that represent your notes on eight different biomes: subtropical desert, savanna, tropical rainforest, chaparral, temperate grassland, temperate forest, taiga, and arctic tundra.
Subastral uses a blend of hand-management, and set collection, with the twist that WHEN you collect a set matters too.
Featuring beautiful art by artist Beth Sobel, Subastral will be gracing tabletops this Summer. Pre-order your copy today!
