Reports are surfacing that Microsoft is planning to reveal a VR headset at next year’s E3.
Digitimes reports that “upstream supply chain” has confirmed this fact, and that next year’s E3 is where the Xbox VR headset will finally be unveiled to compete with the Oculus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus. The headset is apparently being developed by the same hardware team responsible for the Surface tablet.
Head of Xbox Phil Spencer confirmed that Microsoft had something VR related in the works back in September, but didn’t reveal much concrete about the hardware.
Sony’s work on Project Morpheus is nearly completely, and is now running on PlayStation 4 hardware.
