ReCore gets a definitive edition, lower price point for new owners

Today, Microsoft announced that it has released a new edition of last year’s ReCore for Xbox One and Windows 10. Renamed ReCore Definitive Edition, the game will include a brand-new adventure as well as enhanced performance, and will be available for $19.99 (with the updated version free to download for those who have bought the game previously).

According to a post on Xbox Wire:

The Definitive Edition adds enhanced visuals (increased resolution and HDR support), a brand-new adventure, “Eye of Obsidian”, new weapon modes for Joule, new gear for all Corebots, more enemy types, the long-awaited T8-NK Corebot (“Tank”) and many other gameplay and performance enhancements. These additions build on top of ReCore’s core foundation as a fully-featured game with over twelve hours of gameplay, an engaging story, a vast and dynamic world to explore, and lots of replayability and options to collect and customize Corebot frames.

New players get the entire package as either part of Xbox Game Pass or for $19.99 from the Microsoft Store or your favorite retailer, while owners of the existing ReCore game will receive the “Eye of Obsidian” adventure, the T8-NK Corebot, and all the other enhancements, for free, as an online update.

On behalf of the entire ReCore team, thank you to all our fans for your enthusiasm and support, and we hope everyone enjoys adventuring through the world of Far Eden.

Travis liked the platforming and ambitious open-world experience of ReCore in his review last year, but cited technical issues within the game. Hopefully this definitive edition will iron out the kinks and get new players invested in the IP. Stay tuned for more news here on Gaming Trend.
