Put more callus on your fingers with Rocksmith 2014 intro video

rocksmith

Those of you who have hung around the site long enough (or check my gamerscore) know that I play Rock Band every Sunday, almost without fail, playing the drums. Well, my wife got me a guitar for my birthday, and not the plastic clickety kind. I’ve spent the last few months putting callus on my fingertips trying to figure out how to play the thing, so you can imagine I’m very interested in what Ubisoft has up their sleeve with Rocksmith 2014. Today we’ve got some screens and a video that show off some new gameplay features for the game. The video, entitled “An Introduction to Rocksmith 2014 Edition”, gives the public their first look at the note highway, dynamic difficulty, the learn-a-song mode, Riff Repeater, Master Mode, and much more. Here’s what we know:

With a completely redesigned interface, new songs, and all-new features, Rocksmith 2014 Edition is tailored to better teach the key elements of guitar playing.  A new fully customizable “Riff Repeater” lets players select any section of a song they want to play, and repeat that section over-and-over until it’s mastered.  Players can also set the starting difficulty level, speed, or play note-by-note through challenging parts, all on-the-fly.  A new “Master Mode” makes playing by memory more approachable and new “Guitarcade” mini-games have been created to hone specific guitar skills.  With these flexible and deep practice tools, it’s never been easier for players to play their favorite songs on guitar or bass.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition contains over 50 new tracks including all the songs below. Look for more on it as we approach the October release date on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.
