Reports are coming in that PopCap is the prize in an acquisition deal. Full details haven’t been released yet, but the rumored price is staggering, listed at over $1 billion USD (that’s billion with a ‘b’).
Huge news in the gaming world: PopCap Games, the company behind such hits as Plants vs Zombies and Bejeweled, is in the process of being acquired — and we’re hearing from multiple sources that the price is over $1 billion.
This is big news, with a big price tag, but the buyer hasn’t been confirmed yet. Thanks to TechCrunch for the heads up!
UPDATE: TechCrunch is now reporting that the buyer appears to be Electronic Arts.
