Pokemon Gold and Silver coming to 3DS

Nintendo announced today that Pokemon Gold and Silver will be coming to Virtual Console for the 3DS family of consoles on September 22 of this year. Both Virtual Console ports will be compatible with the Pokemon Bank application upon release.

Pokemon Gold and Silver, the first follow-up pair of Pokemon games after Red and Blue, originally launched on the Game Boy Color back in 1999. In the game, players first explored the new Joto region to challenge gym leaders and capture 100 new Pokemon, along with the original 150. Unlike other iterations of the Pokemon series, Gold and Silver also brought players back to the original Kanto region from Red and Blue.

Pokemon Gold and Silver will be available for 3DS, 2DS, 3DS XL, New 3DS, New 3DS XL and New 2DS on September 22, the same day Pokken Tournament comes out on Nintendo Switch.

Joe's favorite games are Zelda: Majora's Mask, Dishonored, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Hearthstone. His favorite game is not The Witcher 3 because he hasn't played it yet.
