Pixellated sci-fi exploration sandbox Interstellaria heads to Kickstarter

There are two kinds of games that there can never be enough of: sandbox-style games that let you explore a vast world, and games with old-school, hard-edge, pixel-art graphics. Interstellaria is looking to combine both of these prospects into a single title, presenting a world of space exploration, alien contact and more – and they’re looking for backers to help make the project a reality. The kickstarter has just gone live, and so far it’s looking like a very promising title, managing to carve out a nice niche for itself, complete with some cool screenshots and a concept description that ends up sounding somewhere between FTL and Terraria.

There’s a lot going on in this one – ship invasions, crew oversight, planetary exploration and more – so be sure to check this one out if you at all feel the allure of exploring a sandboxy sci-fi world with that good old-fashioned pixel art graphics style.
