PC requirements for Dishonored

For those who have been reading the site since our hands-on demo at E3, I just can’t shut my mouth about Dishonored.   The  Neo-Victorian / Steampunk title absolutely captured my interest and I’ve been watching it like a hawk since.   Well, today we get to find out what it’ll take on the PC side of things to run this gorgeous game.  Courtesy of the Bethesda Blog, it seems that the game will also feature a laundry list of UI options.  Let’s skip the minimum and take a look at what the Recommended Specs are:

Enhanced for:
64-bit
multi-core

Recommended Spec:

OS: Windows Vista / Windows 7
Processor: 2.4 GHz quad core or better
Memory: 4 GB system RAM
Hard Disk Space: 9 GB
Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible with 768 MB video RAM or better (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850)
Sound: Windows compatible sound card

I’m surprised at just how low those specs really are!  A 460 prices out at about 150 bucks, and memory can be had for pennies on the dollar.  Hat’s off to the team at Arkane, both for the optimization as well as the plethora of awesome UI adjustments that folks like me would normally have to hack in by hand.

Dishonored hits shelves on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on October 9th, 2012.
