Hello All! Welcome to Friday Tabletop Kickstarter Update! This week is a little different. Instead of hearing from the all powerful Scott, FTKU is being presented by me, Gwyn. I promise to take good care of you while Scott is away. For info on what is going on here, check out this introduction. There is no shortage of games this week. Let’s get to them.
Just a reminder, neither Scott nor I are in any way endorsing these games, we have not played them, and have not talked to the publishers. (HEADS UP ALERT: Except for Resistor which we mention below.) Back at your own risk.

Tesla vs. Edison
Apparent Weight: Medium
Genre: Route building, Area Control, Stock manipulation
The internet loves Nikola Tesla. He lights up our hearts. Talking about him creates such a spark. Plus he is just so grounded. Okay… electricity puns over. Made from the same people who brought us New Science, Tesla vs Edison is another historically themed game that will be sure to please most fans. In Tesla vs Edison, players will be claiming electric projects, advancing technology, promoting their company through propaganda, and buying and selling stock. The art looks fantastic and uses historical photos to make any history buff happy. Fans of games like Power Grid are sure to enjoy this game, so make sure to back before the lights go out. You’ll be shocked how quickly this one goes. Seriously I’m done now.

Mistfall
Apparent Weight: Medium
Genre: Cooperative, Fantasy, Card and Tile based
NSKN Games is not new to the Kickstarter scene. With successful campaigns such as Progress: Evolution of Technology, and Exodus: Proxima Centauri it is no wonder why Mistfall is doing so well. Mistfall is a cooperative adventure card game that has players exploring locations, fighting monsters, and interacting with special encounters. Let me take a second to comment on the art. The hero boards, cards, and location tiles look outstanding. If you are a fan of adventure games and looking at awesome art you should definitely take a look at Mistfall.

Far Space Foundry
Apparent Weight: Medium
Genre: Rondel, Worker placement, Resource management
Terra Nova Games is coming to Kickstarter with their third campaign like pros. In Far Space Foundry, players lead a team of pilots who manage the transportation and storage of ore. Pilots then sell goods and upgrade their fleets in order to provide supplies to the front lines of the Federation. It seems to be a really polished campaign and the game looks like it will meet high standards. Also they are offering a free print & play version of the game with the final art, which is beautiful. You can tell they are very proud of their game and rightfully so. This project is not yet fully funded so if you are interested and want to see this game in production make sure you head over to their page and support.

RESISTOR_
Apparent Weight: Medium-Light
Genre: Card manipulation, Route planning, Memory
Unlike the other games on this list, we had a chance to talk with Cardboard Fortress and have a walk through of RESISTOR_ at PAX East. You can see our interview with Nicole of Cardboard Fortress here. Now back to our scheduled update. In RESISTOR each player controls a supercomputer that holds a launch sequence to a warhead. Players must hack each other in order to allow their own nuclear warheads to be launched unimpeded. It is a fast paced card game with double sided cards, hidden information, and at times, chaos. If you are looking for a game that you can throw in your bag and take with you this is definitely a great option.

9-Shooter Quick Draw
Apparent Weight: Light
Genre: Dice rolling, Poker hands, Simultaneous play
9 Shooter Quick Draw is Ryan Strong’s submission to the 2013 Heartland Consumer Products contest that had applicants create games using their new signature product, Square Shooters. In this quick and simple game players are Wild West gunmen trying to be the last man standing. 9 Shooter Quick Draw has a theme that matches the fast paced die rolling and rapid turns. They also include a second game in the campaign, so if you are looking for a deal make sure to check this one out.
That’s all for me today! Thanks for letting me takeover! Gwyn out. If you have KS topics that interest you, let us know @Scooter_TTTD
I haven't always been a gamer. Roller Coaster Tycoon was about as gamey as I got until I met and married my gaming husband. Since 2010 we have been playing every game we can get our hands on. I am drawn to games with high player interaction, superb art, and strong themes.
