Nyko announced last week that it will release the successor to its Miniboss Wireless Controller just in time for the release of the much awaited SNES Classic this Friday. Much like its predecessor, which was a wireless solution to the NES Classic, the Miniboss Wireless Controller acts as a wireless way to play your SNES Classic.
“Our original Miniboss wireless controller for the NES Classic allowed gamers to break free from the limitations of a wired controller and play from the comfort of their couches, and we wanted to extend this experience to the new SNES Classic Edition,” said Chris Arbogast, Nyko’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “Super Miniboss provides a simple, wireless alternative that doubles the gameplay range of the original corded controller and complements the style of the updated console.”
In addition to cord-free gameplay, the controller will also feature a dedicated turbo button, home screen functionality with the console, and ergonomic buttons and triggers. The controller will retail at $19.99, and is available for pre-order at online retailers nationwide. While this is a bit puzzling, considering the SNES Classic will ship with two controllers right off the bat, it’s no doubt a wonderful solution to those who don’t want to be tethered by cords; that is, if you can find an SNES Classic next week.
