Each update of No Man’s Sky has transformed the game into an exciting new experience and this summer, the universe gets a little bigger with Beyond. No Man’s Sky Online is only the first component of Beyond, the next chapter of updates.
No Man’s Sky Online includes a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together. While this brings people together like never before, and has many recognizable online elements, we don’t consider No Man’s Sky to be an MMO — it won’t require a subscription, won’t contain microtransactions, and will be free for all existing players.
The NEXT updates added online play to the game in form of players crafting and exploring worlds together, but No Man’s Sky Online will be something more. The exact details haven’t been revealed yet, but it’s expected to be an evolution on what was introduced in NEXT.
No Man’s Sky Beyond will be a free update and will be available this summer. For more information on these updates, visit the PlayStation blog. Want to see our thoughts on No Man’s Sky NEXT? Check out our impression here.
