Nintendo has announced that a limited supply of its upcoming console, the Nintendo Switch, will be available for pre-order Friday morning, January 13, at the Nintendo Store in Manhattan, NY. The company has given no official word on whether or not other outlets will have pre-orders available leading up to the Switch’s release.
A limited quantity of pre-orders for the #NintendoSwitch will begin on 1/13 at 9AM while supplies last at #NintendoNYC.

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima has previously stated that the company expects to ship two million units worldwide by the end of March 2017 (just before the fiscal year’s end), meaning we can expect a scarcity in available Switch units at launch. If Nintendo’s last console roll-out is any indication, a Switch scarcity may very well extend past its launch period.
A live presentation for the Nintendo Switch is scheduled for tonight (Thursday, January 12) at 8pm PT. You can watch the live-stream here, or you can keep an eye on GamingTrend.com for all announcements and updates as they roll out!
