Nintendo has released a response to recent reports stating that it would be ceasing production of Wii U consoles by this November.
In a statement issued to IT Media, a Nintendo spokesperson acknowledged Nikkei’s reports, stating that “This isn’t an announcement from our company, and added, “From the next quarter and thereafter as well, production [of the Wii U] is scheduled to continue.”
Nikkei reported yesterday that Nintendo would not be manufacturing Wii U consoles past November, presumably to devote funds to the imminent launch of its next console, which is supposedly being publicly unveiled at this year’s E3.
