Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata passes away at 55

Nintendo’s CEO Satoru Iwata has passed away at the age of 55.

The company issued a statement confirming his passing on July 11th due to a bile duct growth. Iwata joined Nintendo in the 1980s and was promoted to company president in 2002. In 2013, Iwata rose to CEO of the company’s North American branch.
