Enhancements to the D&D Beyond app are coming with the hope of making it easier to play D&D than ever before. Our own Steven Starkey summarized the updates while looking for a group:
Upcoming updates to technology platforms will be focused on easier ways to gather around the table together. With new “looking for group” options in both D&D Beyond and the official D&D Discord server, players will be able to find local players to gather around a physical table to play with. There will also be a dedicated D&D event section enabling posting local events on D&D Beyond. Players will have an option to have a professional DM help them get started (for a fee). Additional tools and updates to D&D Beyond, including running sessions without having to open a virtual tabletop, will increase the usefulness of the tool to DMs. Tools focused on reducing the need to interact with electronics at the table and supporting tabletop play, focusing on mobile first, then other platforms later hoping to help players focus on the play experience, respecting that you gather in person to spend time together. Expect an early version in 2027, which they plan to iterate and improve throughout the year.
