With dynamos like EA, Activision, and Ubisoft dominating the gaming landscape, it’s easy for newcomers to go relatively unnoticed. Newly founded online game studio Molten Games, on the other hand, is determined to get gamers’ attention. The team includes top talent from industry leaders including Blizzard, Relic, and Sony. Thanks to a multi-million dollar investment from NCSOFT, developer and publisher of Aion and the Guild Wars series, Molten Games is already hard at work on their first IP.
“We created Molten Games in order to truly have control over our game development and IP, and we’re going to create something epic,” said Jungwon Hahn, CEO and co-founder of Molten Games. “Our team understands not only the creation of online games, but the ongoing management of them, better than anyone else in the industry. As we continue to build our team and work on our initial product, gameplay and player experience is going to come first with every decision.”
Not much is known about Molten Games’ first project at this point, but they promise that it will “shake up the online gaming space”. Their apparent commitment to innovation, along with a promise to put players first, means that this new studio might be one to keep your eye on.
Breanna has been gaming since infancy, if gnawing on an unattended controller counts as playing a game. One of the younger members of the Gaming Trend family, she dabbled in PC games as a kid but wasn't fully consumed by the hobby until the sixth generation of consoles. Now an avid PC and console gamer, she looks forward to the day when she can scape together enough cash to join the next gen club.
In the last week of middle school, a math teacher taught her how to program a calculator; she was pretty much hooked then and there. Currently working towards a degree in Computer Science and Applied Math, Breanna hope to someday make games instead of just writing about them. Other hobbies include playing guitar, binge-watching Netflix, and cooking delicious food.
