The new trailer for the second Civ 5 expansion, Brave New World , gives us a look at a new feature that allows players to set policies and ideologies for their civilizations. Your chosen policies will grant various abilities that have will have certain diplomatic effects for the rest of the game. The expansion comes to PC on July 9th, 2013.
