It has been seven whole years since game developer WB Games Montreal has released a video game into the industry. The title in question, Batman: Arkham Origins, was met with a divisive response within the gaming and Arkham community, with many fans calling it the weakest installment in the long-running franchise. Regardless though, it has been speculated for quite some time that the developer has been working on a brand new entry in the Arkham series due to the studio releasing numerous teaser images on their social media in the past year, all with the caption “Capture The Knight”.
With the DC FanDome event right around the corner, it seems as though Arkham fans may be in for a treat. Today, the DC FanDome schedule has been officially revealed, which shows “WB Games Montreal Game Announcement” as part of the lineup. The reveal in question is planned for August 22nd at 10:30 AM PT. While it doesn’t outright say the game is a Batman: Arkham game, all signs point to that being the title that they’ve been working on.

For a long time, gamers have been wondering when they will be able to see their favorite Caped Crusader return to gaming consoles, and it seems as though they won’t have to wait much longer to see the iconic superhero back in action. The game’s title is speculated to be Batman: Gotham Knights, and is going to be a soft-reboot of the series, rather than a direct continuation of any of the games in the series. More details should be expected when the game is officially revealed on August 22nd.
