Desert Child has been quietly rumbling away for the past few years, appearing at E3’s IndieCade Showcase and GDC, and getting successfully funded on Kickstarter at the end of last year. The racing-adventure-shoot ‘em up game has changed quite a bit since we last saw it, adding more life to both its blistering racing sequences and the environments you’ll explore between matches. E3 attendees will get another chance to see the fast, funky racer up close at this year’s IndieCade Showcase.
Akupara Games will be showcasing Desert Child at this years E3 Expo at Indiecade, located in the West Hall, Booth #4100. Attendees will be able to demo Desert Child on a custom, dual screen arcade cabinet, which will show much more significant content since being successfully funded on Kickstarter last November.
Desert Child is slated for release later this year on Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can see how far the game has come since its Kickstarter campaign in the trailer above.
A committed indoor kid, Bryan moved from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles for a prettier landscape to ignore. They can be lured outside with promises of taco trucks and film festivals, and enjoy trawling through used book stores for works on the occult. Bryan has been gaming since the SNES era and is a sucker for good pixel art.
