Mycopunk breaks free of Early Access with 1.0 launch on PC and PS5

Ever wanted to scrub a moon clean of killer mushrooms with three friends and a gun you built out of spare parts? Mycopunk just left Early Access behind and hit 1.0 on PC and, for the first time, PlayStation 5.

Developer Pigeons at Play and publisher Devolver Digital are marking the occasion with a limited-time 50% off deal on the $14.99 game. PS5 players can also grab it through PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.

If you missed the Early Access run that began in July last year, here's the pitch. You're part of the clean-up crew for the SAXON corporation, sent to the surface of the moon to drive back a mysterious fungal threat ravaging New Atlas.

Build the gun of your dreams

You pick from an outrageous arsenal of futuristic weaponry, then supercharge each piece in a grid-based upgrade system to create the ridiculous sci-fi super-weapon of your dreams. Mix in your squad's upgraded abilities and customized weapons and you get strategic co-op mayhem.

The enemies won't make it easy. Some can grab blasted-off bits 'n' pieces and use them to grow bigger and stronger.

What 1.0 brings

The 1.0 release adds a heap of new content: guns, grenades, modes, maps, a whole new character and, best of all, wearable hats. Hats.

Between missions you can let off steam in the H.U.B., an orbital dropship stuffed with toys, games and secrets.
