Bad news for anyone waiting for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Mortal Kombat X, as Warner Bros. has pulled the plug on the last-gen version of the fighter.
A post on the Warner Bros. forums explains that developer NetherRealm was unable to reach the quality standards of the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One version, which resulted in the cancellation.
Mortal Kombat X came to current-gen platforms back in April, and was delayed multiple times for PS3 and 360 before Warner Bros. made the call to not release the game on the older consoles. While the game only ended up launching on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, Mortal Kombat X still managed to become the best-selling game of the year as of July.
